Time Management Skills Practiced at TMT Communications

Creating time management skills is one of things that we stress importance on around the TMT Communications office. By effectively managing our time we are able to make the biggest impact and the best use of our days.

We have put together a list of strategies we have found especially helpful in getting the most out of every hour in a typical workday. Here is what we found to be most important:

1. Early to Rise

Waking up early has made the biggest difference in our time management efforts. Instead of pressing snooze one last time we set our alarms a little early, giving us time to refine our to-do lists, exercise, and eat healthy breakfast to get us ready for the day. By leveraging the quiet of the early morning, we give ourselves head starts on a productive workday and set ourselves up for success.

2. Prioritize

The next big thing that we try to do before coming to the office (or first thing if we get into the office early) is to create a to do list. By doing this we are able to prioritize all of the tasks that we need to complete for the day and get started on what is most important first. This is a simple small task that is extremely important. By creating a list you will not get to the end of the day and feel like you are falling behind or forgetting anything. This also is important to the TMT Communications office as we can make sure that everyone is on the same page and time is not being wasted on a task less important than another.

3. Unplug and Focus

We’ve also found that unplugging from the internet is a more productive strategy than we would have imagined. Staying offline helps us concentrate on important tasks, and we can even draft email responses before we go back on the internet to send them.

4. Decompress

Taking breaks to regroup your thoughts and relax the mind is another essential practice we’ve embraced when it comes to maximizing our time. Whenever we feel the need to decompress at TMT Communications, we take a brisk walk outside or listen to our favorite music. We come back to the task at hand revitalized, ready to deliver the best possible results. Even just taking some time to speak with a colleague can help us regroup and get back into our work full force.
